1981 Mercedes Benz 380SL
The color is Orient Red with Palomino leather interior.
This Mercedes was recently purchased from the second owner who bought
it over 28 years ago.
Features include a very unique
power convertible top, it was probably installed in the early 1980's
, the build quality is very high, it could of been a dealer installed item.
This is a nice car, the motor runs good and the transmission shifts
properly, there are no fluid leaks and no smoke. The engine needs to be tuned, the front lower control arm bushings are worn. The power brake booster needs replacement, the brakes are
otherwise in great condition.
It was
just professionally detailed from top to bottom.
This was always a Florida car, the body is very straight and there is no rust. The hardtop is included.

Updated double row timing chain
The speedometer/odometer is working properly and shows very low miles
The leather seats are original and showing their age
All of the wood is in very good condition
This power top conversion is a beautiful piece of engineering, not all of the functions are working, it is all there and I am sure it can be fixed.
The Bypass Switch allows the power top to be operated manually
The hardtop is included
A clean and dry undercarriage, no fluid leaks and no rust
I have not seen this before, the top release handles are permanently attached
The tires are ok for now but will need replacement soon
